The Curtiss Jenny was the most widley plane used in the U.S., it was a combomation of the "Beast" and the Model J with a 90 horsepower Curtiss OX-5 engine. 1916 was the first flight of the Flying Jenny. Also, in 1916 a bunch of Jenny's were made . The Jenny was used in World War 1. It also helped train many Allied pilots to fly a plane in the U.S. Army.The plane was mostly made in England. The smithsonian got the Jenny in 1918. 6 of the JN-4D were turned into U.S. airmail planes and they put a bigger engine on. After the war the plane was mostly used as
Barnstorming, transportation and at stunt shows such as wing walkers. The JN was a two seater. How the plane got the nickname Jenny, If you say JN out loud it sounds like JayEn witch sounds like Jenny.
