The Boeing 29 Superfortress was a heavy bomber. The B-29 at the time would have been considered revolutionary technology for heavy bombers. The B-29 was primarily made for the US Army during World War 2. The Superfortress was also one of the largest heavy bombers during World War 2. It dropped two atomic bombs on the Empire of Japan. It killed nearly eighty-thousand Japanese people. It later served in the Korean War from 1950-1953. The Superfortress was originally based off of the B-17 Flying Fortress.It can fly at speeds up to 400 miles per hour. It weighs 71,361 pounds and was made of aluminum, card stock, and plastic. Some of its features include a pressurized cabin, an electronic fire-control system, and remote-control machine-gun turrets. The B-29 superfortress is now a retired veteran plane but during its time it served America to the best of its ability.
