PBY Catalina
The PBY Catalina was a military fighter plane for the U.S. Navy. It was a model of a flying boat, which meant it could be used in the air and on the water. The PBY Catalina was used in both World Wars and was the most crucial flying boat for the Allies in World War 2. The Catalina was used in multiple events, but especially Pearl Harbor by spotting one of the Japanese submarines. It was also known as the Cat. The PBY Catalina was made by the Consolidated Aircraft Corporation, it was made entirely out of metal, and was 18 feet by 63 feet. It could hold 7 to 9 people. The Cat was the most produced flying boat ever. Now the PBY Catalina is in the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida. As you can tell, the PBY Catalina was a very important plane.
